Learning Styles - Building on Strengths
This is really a resource related to learning styles but not directly related to traditional learning styles. The concept is to build upon your strengths as a person in all situations - whether learning, leading, or living. This concept was originally presented in a book titled, Now Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham and Donald O. Clifton. There are 34 strength labels and there is an inventory you can go through online (if you buy the book and get the access code). For example, I my strengths are:
- Maximizer - Excellence, not average, is your measure
- Connectedness - If we are all part of a larger picture, then we must not harm others because we will be harming ourselves
- Strategic - This perspective allows you to see patterns where others simply see complexity
- Self-Assurance - Self-Assurance is similar to self-confidence
- Relator - Once the initial connection has been made, you deliberately encourage a deepening of the relationship
Visit Strengths to see what strengths you can build on.

The last item on the list was from Mary Wegner and me. It was trascribed incorrectly (perhaps due to my handwriting):
Creating transformative teacher learning in content thats sustainable ( people & funding)
It's not content but context that's sustainable.
